Welcome to the beautiful and hospitable Rhodope Mountains. Since ancient

born the song which, together with Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, flies through

Pamporovo is a modern ski resort in the heart of the Rhodopi mountain,
the mountain of the mythical singer Orpheus. It is the most southern
skiing resort in Europe. It is the sunniest Bulgarian mountain resort
with wonderful snow throughout the whole season. Pamporovo is situated
on 1650 m above the sea level at the foot of peak Snejanka (1926 m).
It is 240 km far from Sofia and 85 km from Plovdiv.

One day on the slopes of Pamporovo is enough to give you a nice golden
tan. There are more than 120 sunny days and average snow layer of 140-150
cm. And the temperature never fall below – 7 C.
The climate in winter is moderate/mild with a Mediteranean influence.
Typical of this region is that nature does not change its moods abruptly,
there is no danger of avalanche, and that guarantees the tranquility
and safety of your vacation. If you cannot ski, this is not a tragedy,
the ski-school in Pamporovo is one of the best in Europe. Highly qualified
instructors, speaking at least two foreign languages, train the beginners,
in groups or individually. Specialists will help you to make the snow-board
a part of your body.
The Pamporovo resort is recommended by the experts as a good place both
for the beginners and for experienced skiers. The mountain with its
rounded forms is friendly, even to children.
And if you are experienced skiers, you will fly down the slopes and
your vacation will be unforgettable.
The ski tracks of Pamporovo have all degrees of difficulty. Most of
the tracks start from the very peak. There are three cross-country runs
in Pamporovo. In the 9 ski-wardrobes near the tracks, you can find over
2000 ski outfits and equipment, snow-boards and sleighs. Skiers who
bring their own equipment can also use these wardrobes for safe keeping.
The mountain rescue service works 24 hours a day, taking care of the
security of the skiers. The ski-kindergarden is open from 8.30 am to
5.00 pm.
PLACES TO GO
We recommend a day trip to Plovdiv or the nearby town of Smolyan. Sofia
and the Bachkovo Monastery are of great interest too.
SHOPS
A big number of various shops are available at the resort. A shopping
centre is available in the area of Perelik and Murgavets hotels.
RESTAURANTS & NIGHT LIFE
Almost all hotels have restaurants
and day bars. Different types of restaurants and places to eat are available
in the resort and near the ski pistes.
MEDICAL & DENTAL SERVICE
The Emergency SKI PATROL service is available 24 hours a day. Ambulance
and clinic (with doctor and nurse) are available, as well as first aid,
on all ski slopes. Fully equipped and functioning hospitals are available
in Smolyan and Chepelare. Highly qualified dentists are available at
Pamporovo or Chepelare.
Pharmacies are available at the resort.
